Queen Bees
Our Mated Queen Bees are Italian-hybrid queens and come from Ohio, from stock acclimated to northern climate conditions.
Each queen comes in a queen cage with a handful of attendant honey bees. You can use a Queen to re-queen a queenless colony, or to make a split from an existing colony without the fuss of letting the bees make their own queen.
We plan to have queens ready for pick up on April 19th & 20th, 2021.

We are NOT shipping any bees. Please choose "Pickup > Astoria Park Wine & Spirits" at checkout. We will be in touch with you in early April to give you updates as well as details on the specific Pick Up locations & times in Queens and Brooklyn. When filling out your contact information during checkout, please include your email, phone number, and address so we can be sure to have a way to reach you.
If you would like to order additional items(honey, etc) from our shop today, please make a separate order for those items so you can choose the appropriate shipping method.

Notice About Weather & Pick-Up
Packages are expected to be available on April 19th & 20th, 2021. We will be distributing packages in Astoria, Queens and Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Beekeeping is always dependent on weather and the pick-up date may be changed due to circumstances beyond our control. All customers will be contacted and updated as we have information. By purchasing a package, you agree to any changes in the pick-up date and understand that this is not a valid reason for a refund. Please DO NOT purchase a package if you have doubts about your schedule flexibility to pick-up.
You should be prepared to install your bees within 24-48 hours of receiving them. Please make sure your equipment is ready.
Cancellation/Refunds
This purchase is non-refundable unless we are unable to fulfill your order due to circumstances within our control. If something happens to the packages and we can no longer fulfill them, we will refund the affected orders. Any circumstances not in our control, such as weather, your ability to pick up your bees, etc, are not valid reasons for a refund.
If you cannot pick up your package, please consider asking someone else to pick it up for you or find someone to take over your package. If you do this, please contact us immediately so we can collect the new customer's information and contact them.
If you just cancel, your payment will be forfeited. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please make sure you are able to collect your bees if you purchase them.
Returns
All packages will be visually inspected by our Master Beekeeper and yourself upon picking up your package. On occasion, a package may have a dead queen. If you find that your queen is dead upon installing your bees into your equipment, take a picture and contact us immediately.
Your hive should be installed within 24-48 hours of receiving them.
We are not responsible for the mishandling or death of the bees after you receive them. You are strongly encouraged to follow our installation instructions completely. We are here to answer questions and help you be successful, so please let us know if you need help.
Delivery
If you need your packages delivered and/or installed, this will fall under our standard House Call fee of $85/hr, 1-hour minimum. If you are outside New York City, travel time will be counted toward the cost of the house call. Deliveries will be scheduled beginning the week after our pick up date.
A limited number of delivery slots will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact us ASAP if you are interested.
